Artists for Gaza is the brainchild of visual artist, writer, DJ, and legendary club promoter Chris Sullivan. Renowned for founding the iconic Wag Club, which defined London’s creative scene in the 1980s, Sullivan has been pivotal in shaping the city’s cultural fabric.
A master at bringing people together, Sullivan continues to blend his passion for creativity with activism, using his platform to raise awareness and funds for critical causes. His enduring influence and commitment to uniting the creative talents of London’s diasporas for social change through cultural entrepreneurship make him a true trailblazer in merging the arts and humanitarian efforts.
Sullivan is also one of the founders and a trustee of Portobello Radio, a platform dedicated to celebrating and preserving the rich cultural heritage of Portobello and its surrounding areas. Through Portobello Radio he continues to champion community voices, amplify local creativity, and connect people through music and storytelling.
The first Artists for Gaza event on November 3rd, 2024, brought together over 40 iconic DJs and musicians to raise an incredible £24,000 for UNICEF’s Gaza Appeal. The funds supported life-saving aid, including food, medical care, and shelter, for those enduring unimaginable hardship in Gaza.
The next event on March 2nd, 2025, promises to be another unforgettable gathering, standing in solidarity with Palestine and the people of Gaza.
